Woke up this mornin’ and my Ligularia was gone.
Said I woke up this mornin’ and my Ligularia was gone.
There were holes in my Hosta,
The critters that done it had slithered off by dawn.
Woke up this mornin’ and all I saw was stumps
Said I woke up this mornin’ and all I saw was stumps.
A few slimey trails
That give my skin goose bumps
Up late this evening, I’m waiting for my prey
Said I’m up late this evening, and I’m waiting for my prey
Got some sharp secateurs,
Those slimey devils gonna pay.
Very Good
ReplyDeleteLike this a lot :-)

ReplyDeleteI've been doing the Snail Stomp this evening (with apologies to Jelly Roll Morton). Very satisfying.
ReplyDeleteSlimey, slippery, unloved and not all pretty
ReplyDeleteOh HM every mollusc is quaking in its welly boots tonight
After reading your little ditty!
Marvelous. I give you a 10.
ReplyDeleteseem to have struck a chord...
ReplyDeleteMade me smile first thing in the morning...
ReplyDeleteHappy hunting! The frogs seem to make short work of the slugs, but the snails... Oh, the snails... They have destroyed all my coriander, most of my basil, uncountable annuals cut off before they could reach their prime. I take great delight in the crunch when I find one and send it to the great hosta garden in the sky.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a zydeco stomp to me! Check out my recent blog post, I borrowed a few verses myself from J.Garcia.
