Spring, interrupted

In the midst of autumn, plants are already preparing for spring.
In the midst of a challenging economic climate, the world looks forward to a new US president.

Yes, even in autumn there are hopeful signs of spring - in nature and in politics! Lovely picture.

I love the way that if you look hard enough, the signs of spring are already there. I found some daffodil bulbs just beginning to peak through the soil the other day...

It's amazing how spring-like I feel, so late in the fall. (I can't speak for my plants, though.)
