A study in red
We've never grown Hippeastrum (amaryllis) before. It has been great fun watching the dried looking bulb spring into life; the stem gradually lengthening, and finally the petals unfurling. So meet 'Red Lion'. It's ridiculously photogenic.

They're fabulous, aren't they? They just present endless opportunities for photographing.

They are such luxurious flowers with their velvet red petals and are so photogenic! I have some which flower now but they are utterly confused usually they flower in spring.
