That is a huge potato! And I love the dancing parsnip, with surprisingly dainty feet. Never really thought of parsnips as dainty before (although I love them).
HM, Thank you for the the belly laugh! It's sooo appreciated. Cooling off here, so I can turn the oven on again for garlic roasted potatoes....would love to add some thin sliced parsnips but never think to buy them.
Tell me, please, how do you prepare them... the en pointe veg, that is?
@ Victoria - a big improvement on my garden footwear until a couple of weeks ago. These were 'leopard print' slippers considered too old & battered for the house & with a Huge hole in the sole. Big advantage (and why I put up with them so long, despite wet feet on most trips out to the garden) was they took 2 milliseconds to put on. These new shoes take slightly longer but now I don't get soggy socks!
Alice, we have our parsnips peeled then roasted in chunks - just for a slightly shorter time than for roast potatoes. Also fantastic as soup (curried or we have had it cold with apple). They haven't had a frost through them yet, which allegedly improves flavour, but I was impatient and needed to know what was below the huge mound of foliage :)
Bags I have a share in the super spud! It'll feed all of you AND all of us! :)
The dancing parsnip is great! I only managed to grow 5 (yes, 5!) parsnips this year, so I'm saving up the pleasure until it's a bit colder - I just love roast parsnips!

We've eaten the dancing parsnip. We're considering hollowing out the potato and moving into it.
