One of the benefits of
my change in jobs is that I'm currently only working part time. I'm making the most of this by doing the
RHS Level 2 Certificate in Horticulture. I just love learning new things - I wish I could be a perpetual student. It was my third week this week, but after half an hour had to leave the class as I felt dreadful - some nasty bug making me shiver and feel awful. I came home :( and am now feeling better after a lie down. Typical for it to happen on a college day, rather than a work day!
But on the plus side, one of the course lecturers has organised an 'insiders' trip to Tatton Park on Saturday, which I am really looking forward to (if the evil bug goes away).
To cheer myself up after missing my lectures today, here's a photo of some hellebore seedlings I discovered last week as I was tidying borders and removing lots and lots of moss.
It will be interesting so see if they produce any exciting flowers in a couple of years.

Get better soon.
Perhaps the fitter students could carry you round Tatton Park in a litter.
It would look particularly good in the Japanese garden there: especially if you dress like an Emperor's concubine.
Oh dear, I hope you feel better for Sunday!
Ooh, exciting baby Hellebores, think of the possibilities :)
Argh. Technical incompetence made me delete my own comment.
Thank you both, I'm feeling a bit better than I was - some silly short-lived bug.
James, even if I'm better, I might try for the sympathy litter. I'm not entirely sure how Japanese concubines dress, but I'm not sure their ?silk kimonos? would withstand a cold, wet March day in the North west. On the plus side, I *have* just found a photo of a
kimono dragon: http://www.rhcomix.com/images/KimonoDragon4.jpg
Hope you are soon on the mend HM and are fit enough to get to Tatton - given the forecast think that you might be better off in a cagoule :)
There's a really, really nasty bug going round at the moment (and a much milder one too - no doubt lots) - I hope you feel better soon :)
Oooh helleborus seedlings, maybe there will be a world famous one there named after you!
Hope you feel better soon. It's sods law that it would happen on a college day, isn't it? The insiders trip to Tatton Park sounds exciting. I've recently found myself with extra time on my hands too after leaving my job. I'm determined to spend some extra time on the allotment this year.
I'm wondering if the comments I'm leaving with name/url are not making it through? I've changed over from my google identity but it seems problematic.
Yesterday I left one here:(
Alice
Anna - yes, the forecast doesn't look very good. Cagoule, waterproof trousers, hat, brolly, wellies are all in order.
EB - thank you - I feel much better today, so it must just have been some mild bug, thankfully!
Deborah - that would be great. I don't think I'd have the patience to breed plants commercially.
Jo - thank you, much better today. Yes, I'm planning more time down the allotment, too. May just keep on top of weeds this year.
Hi Alice - that's strange; I'm not sure why that's happened, but I'm glad you persisted.
