Hi Karen, hope the garden preparation si going well. It's a real ray of sunshine, isn't it?
Hi Shirl, orange is a great colour!
Hi Liz - thanks. I took it at BBC Gardeners' World Live in the marquee, so was quite pleased with the way it came out as it was a bit gloomy in there.
Hi Elaine - no, I was just taken by the way it looked like an exploding atom, if you can have such a thing. I was going to title the post 'Atom Heart Mother' but then thought that I might have disappointed Pink Floyd fans arriving at the blog. It is a Leucospermum cordifolium (good job I photographed the plant label!)
Hi Kate - thanks. It's a real eyecatcher of a flower.
Sage Butterfly - wow, a bee would think it had landed in the middle of a firework!

What a lovely shot - makes up for the lack of summer so far!

Wow! Love those colours... especially the yellow/green center. In recent years I've become an orange fan ;-)
Hi,
Beautiful photo!
Is Atom Heart the plants name.
Love, love, lovin' that orange! What a fab shot! Happy WW!
Ah-h...to be a bee and land in the very center and look around...

That's a stunner. I wonder if I would like it as much in person as in a photo though.

A good point, Esther. I think I found it interesting to photograph but it looked very 'plasticky'. I think I like my flowers a little more delicate.
