Wordless Wednesday - a tide of bark through a reef of lenticels

  1. Haven't the foggiest idea what the title means, nor what the picture is of - but it's rather good as a pattern though.

  2. Hi Lucy, thanks for commenting. It's the bark of a Prunus (not sure which one). I thought that the mahogany-looking bark looked as though it was flowing through the raised areas. These are lenticels - the "breathing holes" of the bark, connecting the inside of the bark to the outside. It looked like the waves washing through rocks on the beach.
