It stopped raining for an hour or two this afternoon, and we had the joy of being able to see our own shadows for a short time, whilst the sun was out. The insects were quick to enjoy the break in the storms of recent days, stocking up with nectar after 48 hours of rain.

A break in the storms

I often wonder where insects hang out during periods of heavy rain. Perhaps there are communal areas where they all sit wing to wing till the sun comes out!
Its been a real relief today not to have any rain, though my garden is just so sodden, its impossible really to do any clearing up - hopefully the weather will improve soon
Gorgeous flowers with the insects taking the opportunity to have a feast while the sun is shining. Great observation.
amazing images of your flowers and little garden creatures. hope the rain stays away awhile.
So many pretty flowers, mine are all mostly gone by.
Just lovely.
