It makes such a difference when otherwise mundane things are given a little extra attention and turned into something lovely in their own right. Though I do agree that both the ivy and the lovely old brick wall play their part. But utility doesn't have to be ugly!

Very nice - only in very old houses can drainpipes become things of beauty - the ivy helps of course!

It's lovely! I never thought I would say such a thing about a drainpipe! Pity modern ones are nowhere near as elegant...

It's rather smart, isn't it? It's a Dunham Massey - the ivy frames it beautifully.
