October flowers, October colours

It's the 15th day of the month, which makes it Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day (GBBD).
There's still a lot of colour in the garden, and the wonderful low light which illuminates the plants beautifully.

Ahh, the joy of lazy photo blogging.
Thanks to Carol at May Dreams Gardens for hosting GBBD!

Not lazy enough for me. I can never get organised in time. That's a lovely Nerine - I like the bright pink ones. Very cheerful at this dull time of year.

Hi Happy, lazy in text maybe, but not in quality photos. They are superb! I wondered what the first flower was, nerine? What is blooming with the fig leaves, a fig flower? I don't believe I have ever seen one, they are lovely. Your photos are mouthwatering.

Wonderful pictures - you still have some zinging colour in the garden - Do your figs ripen enough for you to eat?

Great pics - I'm off to look at my Castor Oil plant now to see if it has a flower

Lovely flower photos...but that they grace your garden makes them even better! The first photo is exquisite, color and flower form! I did want to pluck the fig and have it for breakfast! Gail

Hi EG - yes, the nerines are a gorgeous 'in your face' colour (at least the ones which escaped the snails are...)

Hi Frances - I think the flower you're commenting on is the fatsia (castor oil plant). Thanks for your comments.

Victoria - thank you.

Karen, yes, the figs do ripen enogh but I'm ashamed to say I don't like them!

Thanks, VP.

PG - hope you find some!

Gail - thanks for your comments.

I really enjoy GBBD - it gives me a chance to really look at the garden with fresh eyes.

Your photos are gorgeous, lots of blooms in your October garden still. It's nice to grow things that not only give interesting fall color but are edible as well. :)

Gorgeous photos, Happy! What is the pink flower in the first two photos--a nerine?

I stopped by Sunday night to read some of the cat poetry, and I think I was interrupted before I left a comment:) Bill and Ted are very handsome fellows! Enjoyed the whole LAPC...meme; I wish I had had time to join in. You'll have to do it again some time.

Glad you visited by blog. You have some very nice flowers and you have photographed them very well. I have trouble getting my camera to photograph red but you seem to have no problem Surely that is a japanese anemone in the last photograph?

Hi! I am new at this blogging business, but not to gardening. Thanks for looking at my flowers. This is so much fun, and what a treat to see your gorgeous photos and flowers from so far away, yet so near thanks to technology!

We don't have cats, as my DH is allergic, but our DD, who is also allergic, has one anyway. Stewie is black like yours, and has an attitude, at times. He likes me, but not DH. I wait and let him come up to me when I'm over there.

What a cool blog! My first time visiting, came here from May Dreams Gardens via a link. Lovely photos, I like that first bright pink flower, how cheerful!
I'm sorry I missed the cat and poetry event, just a few days ago, I would have loved that.

I don't see any lazy daisies here. Photos still take time to shoot, upload, and crop, and yours are very lovely. I enjoyed them!

I absolutely adore those nerines. I planted 30 last year and have had not a single flower. Are they fussy? I thought they would like my stony fast draining soil and tried to choose sunny places, but zilch.
Lovely photos altogether.

You do have a lot of good color still in your garden! Oops, I mean colour!

Thanks for joining in for bloom day!

Thank you for paying a visit to my blog, I hope you can come over again. What amazing photos these are. The nerines are such a welcome sight at this time of year, I have some in a large pot. x
