Daisy Time
by Marjorie Pickthall
by Marjorie Pickthall
See, the grass is full of stars,
Fallen in their brightness;
Hearts they have of shining gold,
Rays of shining whiteness.
Buttercups have honeyed hearts,
Bees they love the clover,
But I love the daisies' dance
All the meadow over.
Blow, O blow, you happy winds,
Singing summer's praises,
Up the field and down the field
A-dancing with the daisies.

I love that poem :o)
I haven't read that poem in years - I'd quite forgotten how lovely it is. Thank you so much! I had a lovely wander down my childhood memory lane there.....!:)
I meant to comment on your allium post, in fact I thought I had but I quite often forget what I am doing half way through. Anyway it was to say that I bought some nectaroscordum bulbs at Malvern which I think are meliophyllum and I really wanted the siculum like yours - I probably forgot what I was buying half way through. :( Now I will have to buy the siculum as well and hope the original ones were the meliophyllum otherwise I will have too many.
Good luck with the cheese.
Nice poem.
What a sweet poem
