Gangly things, crane flies, aren't they? This little blighter is a male, I believe, so it really is a daddylonglegs. (I think the females have pointy ends.)

In my mini-meadow, the larvae of this lot have been creating havoc and now, something is digging all over it to get at them - badgers? Hedgehogs? Squirrels? Still, they feed starlings, robins and small insectivores, so they're not all bad.

Lovely picture!

Beautiful photo, almost abstract. Still don't like them flying at me though...

@Plant Mad Nige - I think foxes and badgers are keen on crane fly larvae. I'm sure I've heard that badgers have mutilated lawns to get at them.

Janet - thank you. I know what you mean, but they are much, much better than spiders.

Meredhuit - thanks for visiting. Not the best looking chap, is he?

Iowa Garden Woman - thanks for visiting.

Lucy - thanks for the link. It's been a while since we've been to Paris, so a reminder of Rue Mouffetard is always appreciated.
