I started this blog because I got an allotment, and I wanted to journal progress on it. We said goodbye to the allotment not long after child was born - life got too busy and we didn't have the time to keep it in shape and to enjoy it. I've fitfully grown some fruit and veg in the garden since then, most often eater by snails. However, this year, as it's been so dry, and as I get a little time, we've managed a pretty good year.
I say, pretty good, but it's just a handful here and there - a serving occasionally. Listed out, though, it looks quite impressive:
- pea shoots
- lettuce leaves
- apples
- strawberries
- tomatoes
- four pumpkins
- small cucumbers
- a few dwarf beans (dwarfed by the pumpkin growth)
- sweetcorn.
Far from self-sufficient, but satisfying nonetheless.
