Purple fireworks are coloured by a mixture of strontium carbonate and copper oxide. All that is needed to make the alliums explode into a thousand scintillating stars is a few more days of sunshine.

Something weird has happened to my schubertii. It started to grow nicely and then the stem fell over and it went all mush. I think one of the cats must have pee'd on it. It was my favourite too but I will have to make do with the christophii which are just flowering and a pretty white one which I don't remember anything about.
I love floral explosions!
Mine are out in full flower now! Absolutely adore Alliums and I have several different varieties throughout the garden.
Must get more!

That fwing moment is definitely near HM!
With this warm weather and more to come later this week they will be woooooshing soon !
Arabella, cats in the garden have a lot to answer for. Ted is particularly keen on attacking the Stipa tenuissimas.
Yolanda and Ryan - absolutely agree.
VP - indeed - I've already failed to capture the tree ferns fwinging, which they did spectacularly this year.
Anna - I hope so!
