Karen - Carnaval de Nice is one tulip which comes up year after year for me - I think this must be the 4th or 5th year they've flowered. Absolutely no special tratment of any kind. Do give them another go.

When I first glimpsed that picture it registered as a slightly abstract side view of the torso of a pale fleshy woman wearing a raspberry ripple coloured evening dress with shoulder straps. It would actually make a rather beautiful fabric design.

It's beautiful - but I hope you've had better weather than they've had in Nice today. It was the worst storm for over 50 years!
